Course Description

Overview

The BA (Hons) Drama at the University of Exeter combines practical theater-making with the historical, cultural and theoretical study of performance. The course allows students to explore acting, directing, writing and creative production while developing the analytical skills needed to understand how theatre functions within different social and cultural contexts.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to analyse theatrical and performance practices using appropriate historical, theoretical and critical approaches. They will develop practical skills in acting, directing, writing and collaborative theater-making, with the ability to contribute creatively to different types of performance projects. Students will be able to investigate theatre through independent research, evaluate relevant evidence and connect practical work with critical ideas. They will also develop the ability to plan, create and reflect on performance projects, work effectively with others and communicate complex creative and analytical ideas clearly.

 

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 75%.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.0 with 5.0 in Writing and no band below 4.5 (or approved SELT equivalent).
