Our cutting-edge RIBA-accredited BSc (Hons) Architecture course provides you with an excellent grounding in design and building technology.
Based at the University’s Grenfell-Baines Institute of Architecture, we provide an innovative, creative and critical architectural education which explores the pressing issues of our time from a local and global perspective. We’ll provide you with an expansive grounding in design, theory, history and building technology.
Post-industrialisation, regeneration, suburban expansion, the relationship between countryside and town, digital media and emerging technologies are amongst the issues relevant to Preston and the North West. Our strategic position within the heart of the UK allows us to explore these themes – you’ll compare and contrast regional architecture and urban form with national and international exemplars within your project briefs, lectures and on our annual overseas field trip.
We aim to provoke debate and relentlessly pursue innovation within our discipline. You’ll gain experience of all aspects of building design and construction, equipping you to meet the challenges of a low carbon approach to the needs of society.
