Overview
The BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Science combines core computing principles with the study of intelligent computational systems. Students explore programming, algorithms, data, and AI techniques to understand how intelligent systems are designed, developed, assessed, and applied to complex problems.
What You'll Learn
Fundamental principles of computer science and computational thinking
Programming, software development, and algorithm design
Data structures, databases, and information processing
Artificial intelligence concepts, methods, and applications
Machine learning and approaches to intelligent system development
Data analysis and computational techniques
Computer systems, networks, and technological foundations
Modelling, testing, and evaluation of software and AI systems
Research methods and critical approaches to computing and AI
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to apply computer science and artificial intelligence principles to identify, analyse, and solve computational problems. They will be able to design, implement, test, and evaluate software using appropriate programming and algorithmic methods. Students will understand key AI and machine learning concepts and be able to explain how intelligent techniques can be applied to data and computational challenges. They will also develop the ability to assess data, interpret computational results, and evaluate the strengths and limitations of different technical approaches. The course will strengthen logical reasoning, programming, analytical, and research skills, enabling students to communicate technical ideas clearly and make informed judgements when developing and assessing computing and AI solutions.
