Overview
The BSc (Hons) Data Science with Artificial Intelligence combines data analysis with computational techniques for developing intelligent systems. The course builds understanding of how data can be collected, processed and interpreted, while introducing artificial intelligence methods for identifying patterns, solving problems and supporting informed decision-making.
What You'll Learn
Fundamental concepts in data science and artificial intelligence
Programming and computational problem-solving
Mathematics, probability and statistics for data analysis
Data collection, preparation, management and exploration
Algorithms and data structures
Statistical and predictive modelling
Machine learning methods and applications
Artificial neural networks and intelligent systems
Data visualisation and communication of analytical findings
Ethical, social and professional considerations in data and AI
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to apply mathematical, statistical and computational methods to analyse data and investigate complex problems. They will be able to prepare datasets, select appropriate analytical techniques and interpret results to identify meaningful patterns and relationships. Students will also understand how machine learning and artificial intelligence methods can be used to develop data-driven solutions, and will be able to evaluate their effectiveness and limitations. They will develop the ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and critically, while recognising the ethical, social and professional considerations associated with using data and intelligent technologies.
