Overview

Bringing bold, original stories to life on screen takes both technical mastery and genuine creative vision, spanning everything from camera work to storytelling and production management. The BSc (Hons) Film and Television Production at the University of York combines hands-on creative and technical training with critical study of screen theory and history, taught by staff with real industry backgrounds as documentary makers, broadcasters and scriptwriters. Students train in industry-standard TV studios and post-production suites that have supported projects for the BBC, working toward large-scale group productions and an independent research project by their final year.
