Overview
The BSc (Hons) Geography and Urban and Regional Planning examines how physical environments, human activity, and spatial development shape places and communities. By combining geographical study with planning principles, the course develops an understanding of how towns, cities, and regions change and how these changes can be assessed through evidence and analysis.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to explain key geographical processes and assess how they influence urban and regional environments. They will understand the relationships between people, places, resources, development, and environmental change, and how these factors can affect planning decisions. Students will be able to investigate geographical and planning questions using appropriate research methods, spatial information, mapping, and analytical techniques. They will develop the ability to assess planning approaches critically, consider different interests and perspectives, and use evidence to support conclusions. The course will also strengthen their capacity to communicate geographical and planning ideas clearly while applying an integrated perspective to the development, management, and changing character of places.
