Overview:

The BSc (Hons) Molecular and Cellular Biology (with Plant Science) explores how life functions from the level of molecules and cells through to complete organisms, with a dedicated focus on plant biology. Students build a broad understanding of biological science while examining the processes that shape living systems and their relevance to science and health. The programme is delivered by the School of Molecular Bioscience within the College of MVLS at the University of Glasgow.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the course, students will be able to describe fundamental molecular and cellular processes and explain their importance in living organisms. They will understand key aspects of plant science and recognise how plant biology connects with wider biological disciplines. Students will also develop the ability to use scientific knowledge when considering biological problems, make connections across different areas of biology, and communicate scientific ideas effectively. The course provides a strong academic basis for further development in scientific and health-related areas, including biotechnology, genetics, zoology, pharmacology, neuroscience and public health.
