Overview

The BSc (Hons) Nutrition at Leeds Beckett University examines the scientific relationship between food, nutrition and human health. The course combines biological and nutritional science with social and behavioral perspectives, helping students understand factors that influence dietary choices, health and nutrition-related conditions.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain the scientific principles linking nutrition, food and human health and apply this knowledge to different nutritional contexts. They will develop the ability to analyses nutritional information and statistics, evaluate scientific research and interpret evidence relating to diet and health. Students will understand how biological, psychological and social factors can influence eating behavior and health outcomes. They will also be able to conduct nutrition-related research, assess their professional development and communicate evidence-based information clearly. The course supports the development of practical, analytical and reflective skills for understanding nutrition within individual, community and public health contexts.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 60% or above, including relevant subjects.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 4.5 with no band below 4.0 (or approved SELT equivalent).
