Overview:
This course brings together the study of Central and Eastern Europe with the history of economic and social change. It examines how political, cultural, economic and social developments have shaped societies and relationships across the region, providing an interdisciplinary perspective on important historical and contemporary issues at the University of Glasgow.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to explain major economic, social and historical developments affecting Central and Eastern Europe. Students will also be able to assess evidence and construct reasoned interpretations of issues relating to the region and its past and present. The course supports a broad understanding of society, culture and human behaviour while strengthening analytical and research skills relevant to the study of social sciences and humanities.
