Course summary
We'll help you develop your knowledge and prepare you to tackle some of the world's biggest problems, from climate change to the discovery of novel drugs. On our BSc Chemistry course, you'll be guided by world-class experts to discover how chemistry shapes the world. You'll build a strong foundation in the fundamental concepts of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. You'll also explore applications in areas such as analytical, environmental, materials and theoretical chemistry.
Our chemistry-specific units sharpen your key mathematical skills and develop your ability to design experiments and interpret their results. You'll also gain hands-on experience working with industry-standard equipment in our teaching labs.
Careers-specific support is embedded into units. You'll be given advice on preparing CVs, creating professional social media profiles, and on researching companies and sectors. You can receive guidance and support with applying for internships, and practice interview and assessment centre skills that build your confidence.
Our Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) accredited degree prepares you for a vast range of careers. Our graduates have gone on to work in data science, financial services and consultancy, as well as taking traditional routes into the chemical industry.
