Overview

The MBChB (Hons) Medicine and Surgery develops an integrated understanding of human health, disease, diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. Students study the scientific foundations of medicine alongside clinical reasoning and professional practice, learning how knowledge and evidence inform safe and effective care.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain key scientific principles underlying human health and disease and relate them to clinical practice. They will be able to assess patient information, recognise relevant clinical features, and apply appropriate reasoning when considering diagnosis and management. Students will understand the principles of medical and surgical care and how pharmacological, preventive, and therapeutic approaches can be used to address health needs. They will develop effective communication and teamwork skills and recognise the importance of treating patients with dignity, respect, and consideration of individual circumstances. The course will also enable students to evaluate medical evidence critically, make reasoned clinical judgements, and apply professional, ethical, legal, and patient-safety principles when responding to healthcare situations.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 95%, including 95% in Chemistry and Biology
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5(or approved SELT equivalent).
