Course Description

Overview

The MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy examines the science, development, preparation, and appropriate use of medicines, together with the role of pharmacy in supporting patient care. Students develop knowledge across pharmaceutical science and practice while learning to apply scientific reasoning, professional judgement, and evidence when considering medicines and their use.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain the scientific principles underlying medicines and relate drug properties to their effects and use. They will understand how medicines are developed, formulated, administered, and processed within the body, and how these factors can influence their appropriate use. Students will be able to assess pharmaceutical and clinical information, apply evidence to medicine-related decisions, and consider issues of safety and effectiveness. They will also develop the ability to communicate clearly about medicines and recognise the professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities associated with pharmacy practice. The course will enable students to integrate pharmaceutical science with patient-focused considerations, evaluate relevant evidence critically, and apply reasoned judgement when addressing medicine-related questions and scenarios.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 90%, including 90% in Mathematics and science subject.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with no band below 6.0(or approved SELT equivalent).
