Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to critically analyze literary and cultural materials from English- and German-speaking contexts and develop well-supported interpretations. They will build proficiency in German and communicate with increasing confidence across written and spoken contexts. Students will understand how literature and language reflect and respond to historical, social, and cultural circumstances, and will be able to identify meaningful connections between English and German traditions. They will also develop the ability to undertake independent research, assess sources, construct coherent academic arguments, and present ideas clearly. The combined programme will strengthen students' linguistic awareness, cultural understanding, and analytical abilities while encouraging them to approach texts and ideas from multiple perspectives.
