Course Description

Overview

BA Philosophy examines fundamental questions about knowledge, reality, morality, reasoning and human existence. The course develops careful analysis and independent thought, helping students assess ideas from different perspectives and construct well-supported philosophical arguments.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain and critically assess significant philosophical ideas and arguments. They will be able to identify assumptions, examine the strengths and weaknesses of different positions, and develop their own reasoned conclusions. Students will also learn to analyse complex texts carefully, use evidence effectively and present philosophical arguments in a clear and structured way. The course will strengthen their ability to approach difficult questions systematically, compare competing viewpoints and communicate nuanced ideas with precision.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 85%.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with no band below 5.5(or approved SELT equivalent).
