Overview
Mechanical engineers shape the machines, systems and technologies that keep modern society running, and training in the discipline demands a genuinely broad understanding of engineering science and practice. The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol is built around four core areas, design and manufacture, dynamics and control, materials, and energy and fluid flow, giving students a rounded technical foundation. The first two years establish shared fundamentals through lectures, laboratories and hands-on modelling and manufacturing projects, before the third year moves into complex, open-ended engineering challenges tackled through a major group project.
