Overview

The BSc Diagnostic Radiography foundation pathway at City St George’s, University of London introduces the scientific, clinical and professional foundations needed to progress into diagnostic radiography. It provides an understanding of how medical imaging supports the investigation of illness and prepares students for further study in diagnostic radiography through a combination of scientific knowledge, practical skills and professional development.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the foundation pathway, students will have developed a sound understanding of the scientific and clinical principles underpinning diagnostic radiography. They will be able to explain fundamental concepts in anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical imaging, and apply this knowledge to the context of radiographic practice. Students will also understand the importance of safe imaging, radiation protection, effective communication and professional conduct. The programme will prepare them to approach clinical learning with greater confidence, recognise the responsibilities associated with working in healthcare, and use reflective and evidence-informed approaches to support their continued development in diagnostic radiography.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of the Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate), equivalent to UK GCSEs (RQF Level 2), with a minimum of 45% in Mathematics, and a strong background in Chemistry and Biology preferred.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.0(or approved SELT equivalent).
