Course Description

Overview

Being part of the digital revolution shaping the modern world takes more than coding ability alone, it requires a thorough grounding in computer science fundamentals alongside exposure to emerging areas like artificial intelligence. The BSc (Hons) Computer Science at Aston University teaches these fundamentals in a way designed to keep pace with the latest trends, combining theoretical depth with real-world projects, placements and industry collaborations. Students build a strong portfolio through hands-on coursework, an optional placement year, and involvement in extracurricular activities such as the annual Aston Hack hackathon and the Computer Science Industry Club. The course suits students with a genuine passion for technology and problem-solving, backed by BCS accreditation supporting professional recognition after graduation.
