Course Description

Overview:

The BSc (Hons) Economics foundation pathway develops an understanding of economic ideas, principles, and their application to real-world issues. It provides a structured academic foundation for progressing to undergraduate study in economics at Lancaster University.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain fundamental economic concepts and use them to interpret a range of economic situations. They will understand how microeconomic and macroeconomic factors influence decisions and outcomes, and will be able to examine economic questions using appropriate analytical and quantitative approaches. Students will also be able to assess information critically, draw reasoned conclusions from economic evidence, and communicate their ideas in a clear academic manner. The course will provide the knowledge and study skills needed to approach further undergraduate learning in economics with greater confidence and independence.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 50% including a Mathematics score of 70%.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.0 with no band below 4.5 (or approved SELT equivalent).
