Course Description

Overview:
Birmingham City University’s BSc (Hons) Nursing – Child develops the knowledge, clinical abilities and professional judgement needed to care for infants, children and young people. The course emphasises family-centred care, enabling students to understand the needs of children at different stages of development while working across a range of healthcare and community environments.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will understand the principles of children’s nursing and be able to apply nursing knowledge to the health and care needs of infants, children and young people. They will develop skills in assessment, care planning, communication, advocacy and professional decision-making, while recognising the important role of families in children’s healthcare. Students will also be able to connect theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, consider complex care needs and contribute to research and quality improvement. The course develops professional capabilities aligned with the standards required for registered nursing practice.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 60%, 70% in Maths and relevant Subjects
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5 (or approved SELT equivalent)
A Criminal Record Check OR a letter of good conduct from the local authorities in your home country before an unconditional offer can be issued.
