Overview

The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child Health) at the University of Plymouth develops the knowledge, clinical skills and professional values required to care for children, young people and their families. The course combines human biology, nursing science, evidence-informed practice and clinical experience to support a holistic understanding of child health and nursing care.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to assess children's and young people's health needs and plan, provide and evaluate safe, person-centred nursing care. They will understand how physical, developmental, psychological and social factors influence child health and be able to communicate effectively with children, young people, families and multidisciplinary teams. Students will develop clinical reasoning and practical nursing skills, apply research evidence to professional decisions and respond appropriately to complex health needs. They will also be able to reflect critically on their practice, demonstrate professional and ethical awareness, and contribute effectively to collaborative healthcare environments.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 60%, including 70% in Biology and Mathematics.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5 (or approved SELT equivalent).
