Overview

The BSc (Hons) Nursing - Learning Disabilities course develops the knowledge, practical abilities, and professional values required to support people with learning disabilities across different stages of life. Students examine individual health needs, communication, wellbeing, and inclusion while developing approaches to delivering safe, respectful, and person-centered nursing care.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to assess and respond to the health and care needs of people with learning disabilities using appropriate nursing knowledge and clinical reasoning. They will be able to develop and contribute to individualized care, communicate effectively with people who have different communication requirements, and promote dignity, choice, wellbeing, and inclusion. Students will also be able to apply evidence to nursing decisions, recognize safeguarding concerns, reflect critically on practice, and demonstrate appropriate ethical, legal, and professional judgement when providing care.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 60%.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5(or approved SELT equivalent) or PTE with 59 overall and no component lower than 59.
