Overview:
Birmingham City University’s BSc (Hons) Nursing – Learning Disabilities focuses on developing specialist knowledge and professional skills for supporting people with learning disabilities across different stages of life. The course combines nursing theory, health sciences, professional development and practice-based learning to prepare students to assess needs and provide appropriate, person-centred care.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will understand the principles and professional responsibilities involved in learning disabilities nursing. They will be able to assess individual needs, apply relevant nursing knowledge and contribute to appropriate care for people with learning disabilities, including those experiencing acute, complex or long-term health needs. Students will develop professional judgement, leadership and advocacy skills, alongside the ability to use research and quality-improvement approaches to inform nursing practice. They will also understand the importance of effective collaboration with other professionals when supporting people with complex needs. The programme develops specialist knowledge while building broader nursing capabilities through professional practice and academic study.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 60%, 70% in Maths and relevant Subjects
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5 (or approved SELT equivalent)
A Criminal Record Check OR a letter of good conduct from the local authorities in your home country before an unconditional offer can be issued.
