Course Description

Overview:
The BSc Mental Health Nursing at the University of Dundee focuses on developing the knowledge and practical abilities needed to support people experiencing a broad range of mental health conditions. The course combines academic study with clinical learning, enabling students to build an understanding of person-centred nursing care and develop professional skills through practical experiences.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will understand key principles involved in caring for people with varied mental health needs and will be able to apply person-centred approaches to nursing practice. They will develop the ability to communicate effectively, assess clinical situations and use critical thinking when considering appropriate care. Students will also gain practical experience across different healthcare environments and develop clinical skills through structured learning and placement activities. Successful completion provides an academic and professional qualification that supports application for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 60%.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5 (or approved SELT equivalent)
