Overview
Investigating the structural organization, embryonic origin, and functional mechanisms of the human body is essential to understanding human health, disease, and evolutionary biology. The BSc (Hons) Anatomy, Developmental & Human Biology at King's College London provides a specialized education delivered within Europe's largest center for medical and professional healthcare education. Taught primarily across the Guy's and Waterloo campuses, the curriculum integrates classical anatomical dissection with modern cell biology, genetics, tissue engineering, and developmental neuroscience. Students gain direct practical experience in state-of-the-art dissection room facilities and utilize world-class pathology collections, including the historic Gordon Museum of Pathology. The program emphasizes structure-function relationships from the molecular level to the whole organism, offering flexibility through optional study abroad pathways and specialized final-year research modules. This course is ideally suited for scientifically curious, analytical individuals who wish to explore human morphology, investigate stem cell biology, and pursue careers in medical research, clinical healthcare, or scientific strategy.

Learning Outcomes
Graduates will possess an in-depth understanding of human anatomical structures, developmental biology principles, and tissue organization across cellular and organismal scales. They will demonstrate the capability to perform cadaveric dissections, evaluate anatomical variants, analyze histological specimens, and interpret complex developmental mechanisms using modern imaging techniques. Students acquire robust practical competencies in experimental laboratory procedures, quantitative data analysis, scientific reporting, and microscopic examination through structured practical workshops and individual research projects. Furthermore, scholars master the ability to communicate technical biological concepts clearly, present empirical findings, and evaluate scientific literature critically for specialist medical and research communities. Through research-informed teaching, hands-on dissection experience, and capstone research investigations, graduates cultivate the intellectual agility, manual precision, and analytical rigor required to excel as biomedical researchers, clinical specialists, anatomical curators, biotechnologists, or postgraduate medical scholars.
