Scholarships

Studying abroad is usually a question of higher cost. Thinking of cost is the step prior to many things. In order to support the financial need of a student institutions offer several financial aids called scholarship programs. A scholarship may cover partly or fully the cost-related factors like tuition fee, registration fee, accommodation cost, airfares, etc.
Scholarships may be offered by the institution or the concerned country’s Government or sometimes by both. In the modern and competitive world, many countries offer scholarships in order to attract outstanding international students to take a higher degree from their institutions and stay there even after finishing their studies and contributing to their country being employed there. That’s why many scholarships are found from many renowned universities in the world.

Scholarships are offered based on some criteria like the following:

  • Merit-based scholarship: Merit-based scholarship is usually awarded considering the extraordinary performance of the student in academic or non-academic activities.
  • Student-specific scholarship: This scholarship is awarded usually on the basis of some factors like race, gender, religion, medical history, and so on.
  • Subject-based scholarship: It is awarded based on outstanding performance on the student’s study course like subject-based research on student’s major or study field.
  • Program-specific scholarship: Program-specific scholarship is awarded by the individual stud program department or institution based on a particular study program and performance.
  • Destination-specific scholarship: This kind of scholarship is usually awarded by the country or institution to pursue international students from any particular country or nation to attract students from only that destination.
