Reading literature allows us to question our world, discovering new ideas and ways of being. An English degree enables you to evaluate historical and social processes and to think through the complexities of our own times.
Our BA English is designed to help you develop a rich understanding of the literary past and present. You'll study texts in English from medieval times to the modern day, and explore literary traditions ranging from the local to the global. World-leading experts will introduce you to exciting and challenging approaches, both critical and theoretical.
