Our BA English is designed to help you develop a rich understanding of the literary past and present. You'll study texts in English from medieval times to the modern day, and explore literary traditions ranging from the local to the global. World-leading experts will introduce you to exciting and challenging approaches, both critical and theoretical.

Choice is at the heart of our BA English degree. You'll be able to choose from a diverse range of options, including interdisciplinary and creative writing units. This empowers you to shape your degree to align with your own interests. In your final-year dissertation, you'll be able to work independently on a topic of your own choosing.
