Overview

The BA (Hons) Theology and Religion examines religious beliefs, traditions, texts, practices, and their influence on individuals and societies. The course develops an informed understanding of theological and religious ideas while encouraging students to consider how faith, culture, history, philosophy, and contemporary life intersect.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain important theological concepts and demonstrate informed knowledge of religious traditions, ideas, and practices. They will be able to interpret and critically assess religious texts and other forms of evidence, recognising different approaches to understanding them. Students will develop the ability to examine relationships between religion and wider historical, cultural, philosophical, ethical, and social contexts. They will also be able to compare contrasting perspectives, construct well-supported arguments, and evaluate evidence when addressing theological and religious questions. The course will strengthen their research, analytical, and communication skills, enabling them to discuss complex issues in theology and religion with clarity, balance, and intellectual rigour.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 80%.
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5(or approved SELT equivalent).
