Overview

The BDS (Hons) Dental Surgery develops the scientific knowledge, clinical understanding, and professional skills required for dental practice. Students study oral health and disease while learning how to assess patients, understand dental conditions, plan appropriate care, and communicate effectively within a patient-centred approach.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to demonstrate an integrated understanding of the biological and clinical principles underpinning dental surgery. They will be able to assess patients, recognise relevant oral health conditions, interpret clinical information, and contribute to appropriate diagnosis and treatment planning. Students will develop practical knowledge of dental procedures and understand how preventive approaches can support oral health. They will also be able to apply scientific evidence to clinical decision-making, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and consider individual needs when planning care. The course will strengthen their ability to evaluate clinical information critically and practise with appropriate attention to professional, ethical, legal, and safety responsibilities within dental care.

Requirements

Kuwait: Completion of High School / Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-A'ama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall average of 95%, including 95% in Chemistry and Biology
UKVI IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band below 5.5(or approved SELT equivalent).
