Overview

Understanding the fundamental link between human diet, metabolic health, and disease prevention is essential for promoting long-term community well-being. Navigating the modern food landscape requires an advanced knowledge of nutritional biochemistry, food composition, and human physiology. Students enrolled in the BSc (Hons) Nutrition Science at Deakin University explore these vital principles through an integrated curriculum that merges core biological sciences with practical nutritional assessment. The academic framework highlights food chemistry, lifespan nutrition, health promotion, and sensory science within contemporary healthcare and food technology contexts. Learners benefit from modern learning environments, including specialized sensory laboratories, food preparation facilities, and nutritional assessment suites that mirror professional settings. This undergraduate degree suits health-conscious analytical thinkers and aspiring nutrition professionals passionate about improving public health through evidence-based dietary strategies. Graduates leave with the scientific expertise, practical capabilities, and critical insights necessary to thrive across public health, food product development, and health communication sectors.

What You'll Learn
