Overview
Curtin University’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Human Biomedicine) examines the biological foundations of human health and the structural mechanisms underlying disease. Students analyze biological systems at molecular, cellular, and organ levels to understand how body functions are maintained and altered by pathology. Developing this scientific expertise is fundamental to supporting medical research, diagnostic advancements, and modern healthcare solutions.
What You'll Learn
Molecular biology, cell structures, and human genetics
Human anatomy, systemic physiology, and metabolic regulation
Mechanisms of pathology, immunology, and infectious disease dynamics
Laboratory analysis methods, experimental design, and data interpretation
Scientific ethics, research methodologies, and contemporary biomedical issues
Learning Outcomes
Students will learn to analyze structural and biological processes to determine mechanisms of human health and disease, while executing standard laboratory methodologies using proper experimental and safety protocols. Additionally, they will interpret biomedical datasets and scientific literature to formulate evidence-based conclusions, as well as communicate complex scientific findings clearly to multidisciplinary health and research communities.
